Brunnwald Treuhand AG
Who does the maths for your company?
We keep your books, prepare your annual financial statements and guide you through your tax return — for sole proprietorships, GmbHs and AGs in Zug. You get a fixed contact person who knows your figures and doesn't have to ask again on the second call. We discuss deadlines in advance, and costs too.

News
What's new with us?
Here we note what matters in practical terms for our clients: holiday absences, new office procedures and changes that affect your documents. If you're unsure about any of these points, give us a call — we'll clarify it in a few minutes. All notices remain posted until they are out of date.
Office summer holidays
The office will be closed from 20 July to 7 August 2026. We will deal with urgent deadline matters beforehand, so we ask for your documents by early July. Enquiries submitted via the form will be answered during the first week after our return.
Document portal now available to all clients
You can now upload invoices, bank statements and receipts directly instead of dropping off folders. Access runs through a personal login, and the data is stored on a server in Switzerland. Anyone who continues to bring paper will receive no lesser service for it.
Additional capacity for payroll mandates
Since May we have also been handling payroll accounting for up to 40 employees for new clients. We regularly take on businesses whose fiduciary is retiring. Switching at the start of the year is easiest, but mid-year is equally feasible.
Consultation hours for founders
On the first Wednesday of every month we set aside time for people looking to build a company in Zug. The first meeting lasts half an hour and costs nothing. Registration by telephone; the slots are usually gone two weeks in advance.
About us
Where does Brunnwald Treuhand come from?

Brunnwald Treuhand AG was founded in 2004 by Hanspeter Brunnwald, back then with two clients and an office above a butcher's shop. Today there are seven of us on Rosenbüelstrasse, looking after around 180 clients — trade businesses, medical practices, consulting firms, a few associations and a whole range of private individuals who simply want their tax return dealt with in peace.
Zug is a special place for a fiduciary office: alongside internationally active companies, there is a dense network of small businesses here that have been working in the town and in Baar or Cham for generations. We have chosen the second group. In concrete terms that means: we know the practice of the Zug tax administration, we speak German and the local dialect, and we call back.

Team
Who looks after your mandate?
Every mandate has a fixed contact person with us, plus a deputy who also knows the files. That way nobody is left alone with a pending deadline during holidays or illness. You reach your contact person directly, without going through a central number.

Hanspeter Brunnwald
Founder and owner, certified fiduciary expert. He handles the financial statements of corporations and represents clients in objection proceedings before the tax administration. When a construction contractor comes in with a provisions problem, he sits down with him until the figures hold up. After twenty years he knows most Zug industries from the inside.

Nadja Hürlimann
Mandate manager for accounting and taxes, specialist in finance and accounting with a federal certificate. She runs around sixty ongoing sets of books and sets up new mandates. At a joinery business she restructured the costing so that it is visible every month which jobs are paying off. She explains figures without jargon.

Marco Iten
Head of payroll and social insurance, social insurance specialist with a federal certificate. He processes monthly salaries, reports arrivals and departures and clarifies cases involving withholding tax or cross-border commuters. For a hospitality business with fourteen employees and constant turnover, he reduced the entire process to two forms.
Qualifications
Qualifications in-house
«Treuhand» is not a protected title — but the training behind it is. That's why we set out openly which qualifications and professional memberships stand behind our work, and who holds them. Continuing education is working time here, not free time: every specialist attends at least four course days a year on tax practice, social insurance law or financial reporting.
Certified fiduciary expert
The highest qualification in the industry, held by Hanspeter Brunnwald. For you it means that complex cases stay in-house and don't have to be bought in externally. Concretely: we handle the conversion of a sole proprietorship into a GmbH with hidden reserves entirely ourselves. We also take on representation before the tax administration.
Federal certificate in finance and accounting
Nadja Hürlimann and one of our administrators hold this federal certificate. It is proof that financial statements under the Code of Obligations are prepared cleanly and in an audit-proof manner. If your bank requires interim accounts for a credit extension, they will be available in the required form. We answer the bank's questions directly.
Federal certificate in social insurance
Marco Iten holds the federal certificate in the social insurance field. This means OASI statements, occupational pension notifications and accident insurance cases are set up correctly with us. One example: in the case of a longer illness, he coordinates daily allowances, continued salary payments and reporting deadlines so that the business doesn't lose any money. That takes a lot of paperwork off employers' hands.
Member of TREUHAND SUISSE
We are a member of the Swiss Fiduciary Association and bound by its professional code. For you that means: clear fee agreements, confidentiality and professional liability insurance. Through the association we also receive ongoing updates on current practice in financial reporting and tax law. In the event of a dispute, there is a complaints body outside our firm.
Services
What do we do for you?
We offer few services and carry them out in full. Our firm covers four areas: ongoing accounting including annual financial statements, taxes for companies and private individuals, payroll with social insurance, and support with company formations. Anything beyond that we say openly, and we name someone who can do it better.
Accounting and annual financial statements
We keep the financial accounts monthly or quarterly and prepare the financial statements under the Code of Obligations. You receive an interim balance sheet before the year is over, so there is still time for decisions. At a painting business this triggered a replacement purchase in November that made sense for tax purposes. VAT statements are included.
Tax returns and tax planning
We prepare tax returns for legal entities and private individuals in the Canton of Zug and beyond. We request deadline extensions without you having to think about it. When a property is sold, we calculate the real estate capital gains tax in advance so that the figure surprises nobody. We handle objections ourselves.
Payroll accounting
We process salaries monthly, prepare salary statements and handle the annual reports to the OASI, occupational pension fund and accident insurer. You notify us of arrivals and departures by email, and we take care of the rest. For a business with hourly wages and weekly workloads, we run the payroll including holiday entitlements. Withholding tax and cross-border commuter cases are everyday work too.
Company formation and conversion
We support the formation of sole proprietorships, GmbHs and AGs from the question of articles of association through to the commercial register entry. This includes the capital contribution account, registration with the OASI and for VAT, plus setting up the first accounts. Anyone wanting to turn a sole proprietorship into a GmbH receives an advance calculation with all costs and tax consequences. We coordinate notary appointments.
Gallery
A look inside the office
The pictures show our premises on Rosenbüelstrasse: the meeting room with the long oak table where financial statements are reviewed, the workstations with two screens per person, and the archive where files are arranged by retention period. Plus a few shots of the neighbourhood and the way to the building.
Getting here
Where do I park?
The easiest way to reach us is by bus or on foot from Zug railway station; the route is flat and signposted. If you drive, you'll find visitor spaces right by the building, though for midday appointments you should expect to search a little. Just tell us how you plan to come when booking — then we'll reserve a space.

Visitor parking
There are three marked visitor spaces in front of the building. They are free of charge during your appointment, and you don't need a card.
By train
From Zug railway station you can reach us on foot in a good quarter of an hour, or by city bus in a few minutes. The last stretch leads through a residential neighbourhood.
Bicycle and motorbike
There is a covered bicycle rack at the entrance; please park two-wheelers to the left of it. In the rain your saddle stays dry.

Deadlines
Which deadlines are running now?
The following deadlines are the most common in our day-to-day work. What always applies are the cantonal rules and the letter in your letterbox — in the Canton of Zug deadlines can differ, and individual extensions change the picture. We maintain a separate deadline control for each mandate and get in touch in good time.
Deadline
Salary statements and annual OASI report
By the end of January, salary statements must be with employees and the payroll declaration with the compensation office. For this we need all of the previous year's payroll movements by mid-January, including expenses and benefits in kind.
Deadline
VAT fourth quarter
The fourth-quarter statement is due at the end of February; the same deadline applies under the net tax rate method. For this, the quarter's creditors and debtors must be fully posted and the cash account reconciled.
Deadline
Tax return for individuals
The ordinary submission deadline for the previous year's tax return. By then we need salary statements, bank and securities documents, insurance certificates and details of properties.
Deadline
Annual financial statements and general meeting
The ordinary general meeting must be held within six months of the end of the financial year. By then the balance sheet, income statement, notes and the proposal on the appropriation of profit must be available.
Deadline
Tax return for legal entities
For companies with a financial year ending 31 December, the deadline is usually the end of September, provided an extension has been granted. We need the signed financial statements and the minutes of the general meeting.
Contact
An answer by the next working day
Write to us telling us what it's about and by when you need an answer. We'll get back to you by the next working day at the latest, usually the same day. If your question can be settled in two minutes, we'll say so too.
Contact
Quietest on Friday mornings
On the phone you'll reach Nadja Hürlimann or Marco Iten, depending on who is free; after the first sentence we usually know who handles your file. It's quietest on Friday mornings and from half past four in the afternoon — that's when we have time for a whole question rather than half of one. In the weeks before the tax deadlines in March and September things are busier, so a short heads-up by email is worthwhile.
You're welcome to get in touch about anything: an invoice you don't understand, a letter from the tax administration, or the question of whether a GmbH is worthwhile at all.

When the official letter arrives
A letter from the tax administration with a deadline is the moment when many people wait too long. Call us or send the document over as a scan — within one working day we'll tell you what needs to be done and what it will cost. The initial half-hour consultation is free of charge.
